Step
4: Once They've Joined
Once
a new member has joined Ei42, in one sense your "work"
has only just begun. I say work, because up until this stage, you've
not exactly had to do anything difficult!
This
is the stage when you see the rewards so it starts to get very exciting.
The key
thing you need to do when someone has joined is show them
support. They may feel a little daunted and not know "what
do to next". Even if you don't feel confident just let them
know that if there's anything they need, just to ask. If you don't
know the answers, then ask someone else (admin at Ei42 if you don't
have much support from the person who introduced you to Ei42)
Contact
them via email (or telephone would be even better) and let them
know they are not alone. There's loads of help and support to assist
them really make something of this brilliant opportunity.
Most
webmasters will never have experienced personal support in an affiliate
programme before so whilst on the one hand they may be very impressed,
they may also feel a little intimidated, so just answer their questions
honestly and openly and put them at rest. Remember, this could be
the start of a very long and very profitable partnership.
Welcome
your new partner
Here
is an email you can use to welcome your new team member, but again,
this is just a template so feel free to adapt to your own needs.

Hello NAME,
Well done and welcome to Ei42 – you’ve made a
smart move!
As the person who introduced you to Ei42, I’m aware
the initial information be a bit overwhelming, so I just wanted
you to know I am here to help you.
So if there’s anything you need, just ask, and there
are no questions that are "stupid"!
I don't know if you've had time to think about it yet, but
if you have, can you let me know how you think you are likely
to want to promote Ei42 to your site visitors?
Many thanks,
YourName

Please
remember, that even though you've secured a "big hitter",
that's still not the end of the story and if you want to really
maximise the chances of your new contact becoming a star performer,
then think and act like a professional who's just secured a major
contract - and continue to keep in touch with them and offer
them help.
Don't
worry about them asking questions you don't know the answers too
- just say "great question, I don't know the answer at the
moment but I can find out for you. Is it stopping you from moving
on at the moment?"
I would
suggest emailing at least once every 3 or 4 days initially
to keep the dialogue going and keep the profile high on their list
of "to dos".
On the
other hand, you may strike lucky and some web masters can respond
incredibly fast and will have banners and articles on their site
or broadcast to their newsletter list and you can see results within
hours of them joining.
